Parkscriptions at Sunset Pond (Blog post)

Sunsetpond Plustrail

Sunsetpond 2upb

Sunset Pond is located off of James Street, down the hill behind Sunset Square. Take some time out for a peaceful walk along the trail, or enjoy some time out at a table near the pond.

In the springtime you are likely to see geese out for a swim with their awkward yellow goslings in tow. You may also spy bunnies, squirrels, songbirds and the occasional bald eagle.

The city re-routed Squalicum Creek in 2015 to improve salmon habitat. You can take part in documenting the recovery of the creek by snapping a photo at one of the “Habitat Photo” stations and following the posted instructions to share the image with the City of Bellingham.

Whether you live nearby, or are just looking for a place to stroll, Sunset Pond is a great place to fill your Parkscription and Get Your Dose of Nature.
